Our last monthly service for Oyasama’s 120th Anniversary year is coming up. As the year will be coming to a close this month and we will be preparing for a new year I thought it would be appropriate to discuss departure for rebirth in this month’s sermon titled “Science Confirms Rebirth and Causality.” Please join us for worship, in joy and gratitude which will bring meaning and resolve to your life. And come for lunch too!
Also, please take the time to read page 8 of this month’s Origins which features, Auntie Ela, “the Costco Lady” who yelled out “Yee ha!” while demonstrating food samples.

Thank you to you all for your sincere offerings and support on the occasion of Tenrikyo Pearl Church’s November Monthly Service. We were blessed with about 20 in attendance. This month’s sermon is of special interest to those who want to know what spiritual maturity is about.
Also the website is updated with photo’s of the Autumn Pilgrimage by Pastor Owen and Russell Barre, Kaimuki Community Clean up Day in Palolo, and Trick or Treat for UNICEF.
New Photos!
We had a unannounced goal of 25 people to return to Jiba during this year of Oyasama’s 120th Anniversary at the beginning of the year when we had only 10 signed up to go. But thanks to everyone’s sincere efforts we have surpassed the goal with 32 people who have returned to Jiba and two more planning to return in November. We would like to extend our goal to 40 so if anybody wants to go, please let us know! It is one of the steps toward spiritual maturity!

On October 14th, 2006 Saturday, Pearl Church participated for the second time the 3rd Annual Kaimuki Community Cleanup where three of us picked up tire, car batteries and scrap metal and took them down to Kaimuki High School where volunteers helped to unload them and put them in separate bins.
Next, our live-in Russell Barre and Pastor Owen returned to Jiba October 21-27, for the Autumn Pilgrimage, where Russell made the Besseki Pledge and attended three Besseki Lectures. They also attended the Tengen Autumn Grand Service on October 23, the Church Headquarters Autumn Grand Service on October 26, helped at the Young Men’s Association Convention Eve Food Bazaar, Tacos food booth with YMA members from Hawaii, North America and Brazil and attended the YMA Convention on the following day. He said that he had the best time of his life!
On October 31, we held our annual trick or treat for UNICEF fund drive from Pearl Church with the Dendocho staff and Tad Iwata and family.
Our monthly service will be held this Sunday, promptly at 10am.
Come and hear Russell’s impressions of his 1st Jiba Pilgrimage!
