Thank you to all of you for your kind support and offerings. Please see the attached for this months prayer and sermon. The sermon is by former head minister of Pearl Church, Rev. Yoshinobu Nakao who spoke on the meaning of the service and gave some insights as to the important points in the Yorozuyo and the significance of the “Waka” poem form used by Oyasama.

We had a nice crowd with one first timer, Louise Yanai and one who didn’t come for a long time, Yasue Uegawachi. Thank you to you all.

With major natural disasters happening one after another in this seasonal time just before Oyasama’s 120th Anniversary, we must pause to reflect on the way we lead our lives and perceive God’s urgent message to advance our work of single-hearted salvation and spiritual maturity. Please do make your resolutions to save others and return to Jiba in 2006!

Our hearts and sorrow go out to the victims and survivors of the latest disaster wrought by Hurricane Katrina. We pray that they may find courage and inspiration in their time of need.

The service is called the Joyous Service and the Salvation Service for a reason… Please join us as we pray for world peace and relief and courage for the victims of violent conflicts and natural disasters. We will be starting a relief drive again for Katrina survivors which will be donated to the American Red Cross.

In this month’s sermon, we will be sharing an amazing story of a devout member of North Honolulu church. Please join us in faith and fellowship, this Sunday, 9/11 at 10am.
