Blessed with just the right amount of rain, we were able to conduct the 41st Annual Tenrikyo Bazaar without any major (if any) accidents and injury. We were caught a bit off guard with what seemed to be a larger crowd than ever with long lines forming not only for the rummage sale but also at the scrip booths. There were some complaints about having to wait a long time to buy the scrips (because they came at 7:30am), there were other comments, like, “This is the best bazaar!” and “the prices are low.” A long time member's daughter who came for the first time said, “Wow, this is a really big bazaar!”
We are truly blessed with this beautiful property, dedicated volunteers and the support of Bishop and Mrs. Hamada. I feel really proud to be a part of this event! I feel we are fulfilling the purpose of the bazaar: to do nioigake (sprinkle the fragrance of the teachings) to the community. Thank you all for your sincere hinokishin!
